Medical Office Assistant

Location: Baltimore, MD

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM

Work Setting: Onsite Medical Practice

Job Overview

We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Medical Office Assistant to join a busy healthcare practice in Baltimore, MD. This role is responsible for supporting front office operations, providing exceptional patient service, and ensuring efficient scheduling and registration processes.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments

• Answer incoming phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately

• Greet and check in patients

• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits

• Maintain accurate patient information in Epic

• Provide outstanding customer service to patients and staff

• Perform general administrative and front desk duties

QualificationsRequired:

• 2-5+ years of healthcare administrative experience, including:

• Medical Receptionist

• Medical Secretary

• Patient Scheduler

• Front Desk Coordinator

• Similar healthcare support roles

• Experience using Epic EMR (required)

• Excellent computer skills

• Strong customer service and communication skills

Preferred:

• Experience in OB/GYN, Family Medicine, Urgent Care, or Emergency Room settings

• Medical Assistants looking to transition into a front office role are encouraged to apply

Work Environment

• Fast-paced medical practice

• Collaborative and patient-focused team environment

• Scrubs required; any color or design is acceptable as long as they are clean and professional

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baltimore, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
