We are seeking an experienced Project Manager - Water/Wastewater to lead the successful delivery of infrastructure and treatment projects from initial planning through to completion. This role will involve managing projects across water and wastewater networks, treatment facilities, pumping stations, pipelines and associated civil, mechanical, electrical and process works. You will be responsible for establishing project objectives, programmes, budgets and delivery strategies while ensuring that work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
Key responsibilities will include coordinating design development, procurement, construction and commissioning activities; managing consultants, contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders; monitoring progress, costs, risks and performance; and providing clear, regular reports to senior management and clients. You will lead project meetings, resolve technical and commercial issues, manage change control and ensure that projects comply with relevant legislation, contract requirements, environmental standards and health and safety procedures. The role will also involve supporting tender preparation, developing project documentation, maintaining accurate records and identifying opportunities to improve delivery, sustainability and operational performance.
Applicants should have proven project management experience within the water, wastewater, utilities, civil engineering or related infrastructure sectors, together with a strong understanding of project controls, construction methodology, contract administration and risk management. A relevant qualification in engineering, construction, project management or a related discipline is desirable, and professional accreditation would be advantageous. You will need excellent communication, negotiation and leadership skills, the ability to manage competing priorities and a practical, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving. Experience delivering complex multidisciplinary projects, working with regulated assets and applying recognised project management methodologies will be highly valued.
